Change to
opening hours at Stratford police station
|
|
Members of the
public are advised that a change is planned to the opening hours of the
front desk enquiry office at Stratford Police station.
From 6 December
2010, Stratford front desk enquiry office will be open from 8am to 8pm,
Monday to Sunday.
Between these
times, staff will be available to provide assistance to the public on
crime and incident reporting, checking driving documents, reporting road
traffic collisons, dealing with lost and found property, anti-social
behaviour and noise nuisance reporting. They can also put people in
touch with local officers and their Safer Neighbourhood Team.
Outside of
these hours, a yellow help point phone is located outside the stations
for the public to gain assistance, to call 999 in an emergency or to
report non-urgent matters and for advice and assistance on policing
issues, call 01926 415000.
Stratford
District Commander Chief Inspector Ian Whiting said “Warwickshire Police
is committed to dealing with every enquiry by delivering the right
service, first time and providing people living, working or visiting
Stratford with better access to facilities when they need them most.
“We recently
carried out an analysis of usage and found that very few people come to
the Stratford front desk enquiry office between 8pm and midnight, and we
have therefore decided to reduce our opening hours to 8am - 8pm, 7 days
a week.
“The changes
to our opening hours enables us to make better use of our resources and
thus provide a more effective and efficient service to the Straford
community. This has no impact on the operational police station at this
time, which remains with members of our workforce operating from this
base 24 hours a day.”
Superintendent
Adrian McGee, Head of Customer Contact at Warwickshire Police, said:
“Warwickshire Police is currently reviewing all policing services and
the facilities required to support them. This includes front desk
enquiry offices at police stations.
“The public are
reminded that all members of the force remain committed to protecting
communities from harm and will not be distracted from this need by the
process of change. We will continue to reduce the number of people
killed or seriously injured in Warwickshire, both on the roads or as a
result of crime, and reduce burglary of homes and vehicle crime.” |

To help prevent atm fraud:
"Please make sure you check the machine before you use it for any signs of
tampering. If you find it difficult to get your card into the slot or people
are hanging around the machine for no reason, do not use it, go to another
machine.
"Report the incident straight away to the
shop or bank where the ATM is located and contact the police. Never allow
anyone to take your card from you.
"If you lose your card in a cash machine or
it is taken from you, cancel the card immediately with the card issuers 24-hour
emergency line which can be found on your last bank statement or on the Card
Watch website www.cardwatch.org.uk. Do not assume that your bank automatically
knows that the machine has withheld your card.
